Home Shield Terms of Service

Welcome to Home Shield, a mobile app designed to help you track and manage routine home maintenance tasks. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Use of the App
- Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
- License: We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App.
- Features: The App provides reminders for home maintenance categories such as HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliances, Cleaning, Exterior Maintenance, Safety and Security, and Landscaping. It includes task tracking, progress monitoring, affiliate links to Amazon for purchases, and sharing options for virality. The core task list is free. Reminders, custom tasks, and progress are Premium.
- Custom Tasks: You can add custom tasks, but the App does not guarantee accuracy or completeness of reminders.
2. User Content and Data
- Your Data: You own the data you input (e.g., task notes, custom dates). We collect usage data for app improvement but do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for details.
- Backup: You are responsible for backing up your data. We are not liable for loss.
- Sharing: When you share app content (e.g., achievements via social media), you grant us a license to display it for promotional purposes.
3. Affiliate Links
The App includes Amazon affiliate links for maintenance items. We earn commissions from qualifying purchases, but this does not affect prices. Purchases are governed by Amazon’s terms. Buy Now links live in the App, not on this website.
4. Prohibited Conduct
- Do not use the App for illegal purposes, spam, or to harm others.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code.
- We may terminate access for violations.
5. Disclaimers and Limitations
- The App is provided “as is” without warranties. We do not guarantee accuracy of reminders or prevention of home issues.
- We are not liable for any damages, including indirect or consequential, arising from use (e.g., missed maintenance leading to repairs).
- Liability is limited to $100 or the amount paid (if any), whichever is less.
6. Updates and Changes
- We may update the App or Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
- Features may change, but core task tracking will remain free.
7. Termination
- You can stop using the App anytime.
- We may suspend or terminate access for violations or at our discretion.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by laws of California, USA, without regard to conflicts.
